Craft Beer

Anchor Steam– San Francisco….. It is an amber ale w/ a creamy head, that has a fresh, hoppy aroma w/ a hint of caramel. On the palate it is quite light &refreshing &has a fruity mid-palate w/ a clean, dry finish w/ a bit of bite

Anchor Steam Porter—San Francisco….. Smell is, surprisingly, of ripe fruits up front (strawberries, raspberries) w/ some coffee & subtle chocolaty notes in the background. Up front, again, the fruity, caramelly-sweet fruits hit your palate & fade into a nice chocolaty, espresso finish w/ a touch of bitterness from the hops on the linger. Mouth-feel is rich & creamy w/ a ton of crisp carbonation on the back end which makes the finish quite clean.

Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA—Delaware….. "Offers loads of sweet-sour fruity & malty, roasted cereal aromas; later nosing find traces of prune, black raisins, & treacle. Tastes of candied fruit, pineapple, & vanilla wafer. Finishes fruity, smoky, & toasty. Enjoy w/ a hearty meal."

Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA—Delaware….. Our flagship beer. A session India Pale Ale brewed w/ Warrior, Amarillo & 'Mystery Hop X.' A powerful East Coast I.P.A. w/ a lot of citrusy hop character. Tasting Notes: Citrus, cedar, pine & candied-orange flavors, floral.

Chimay “Red” — Belgium….. It pours w/ a lovely deep red color, & tall, foaming head that is very persistent. The nose is intensely fruity, w/ notes of dried apricots & fig & a chocolaty background. On the palate it is smooth & silky-textured, w/ a luxurious mouth-feel. There is plenty of nutty, dry, but concentrated fruit character & a spicy, malty finish w/ plenty of bit.

Duvel—Belguim….. The nose is lovely: a crisp & fruity melange of Asian pear, cloves & wheatbeer-like yeastiness w/ a hint of caramel & some floral aspects. On the palate it is dense & creamy, w/ a strapping, hoppy bitterness & a full-bodied, chewy complexity. It has sweetness, but it does not cloy, as the full, ripe pear fruit & green streak of hops dominates.

Carlsberg – Denmark….. Carlsberg Pilsner is a well-proportioned bottom-fermented lager beer w/ a flavour of hops, grains, pine needles, sorrel & Danish summer apples. The bitterness of the hops & the apple-like sweetness provide a harmoniously balanced taste.

Golden Monkey — Pennsylvania….. Strong & sensual, this golden, Belgian-style ale glows w/ goodness. The richness of German malts & Belgian yeast are tempered by a sparkling approach & overall light body. Considerable depth of character w/ abundant herbal, fruity notes make this one to savor.

Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald—Cleveland, Ohio….. a complex, roasty porter w/ a bittersweet, chocolate-coffee taste & bold hop presence.

Mackeson XXX Stout—Cincinnati….. Delicious & complex sweet malt flavours of roasted coffee, caramel & chocolate meld w/ an overall sweet milk flavour. Mouthfeel is chewy, body is full & robust. There's a delicate hop bitterness that smoothes right into the malt character, balancing but allowing the malt, lactose & caramel mix to dominate the experience. The combo creates a pleasing fruitiness too .

Ommegang “Chocolate Indulgence” 750ml - New York….. The aroma immediately speaks of dark chocolate & dark malts. The gentle herbal nose of Perle hops compliments the darker notes, making the beer savory to the senses. The taste continues w/ the intense Belgian dark chocolate gliding across the tongue; starting sweet up front but giving way to rich cocoa flavors at the back. Through it all, a subtle fruitiness from our special Belgian yeast gives the beer brightness otherwise foreign to a beer style normally associated w/ gray foggy skies. Lingering chocolate entices the drinker to taste more. Go ahead. Dessert is good for the soul.

Ommegang “Three Philosophers” — New York….. a blend of Belgian dark strong ale & Lindeman's Kriek (a classic cherry lambic directly from Belgium). On the bottleneck, it says “Strength in Union,” signaling the beer's portent & possibilities. It produces a wine-like ruby fill in the goblet & a nose of malt, dark fruits, vanilla & sweet cherries...But there's more - coffee, currants, brandied raisins, chocolate & sour notes - all blending nicely across the palate.
