Here at the Brown Dog Cafe, we have always enjoyed pushing envelopes, and experimenting with new trends and ideas. In 2018, we are planning to keep pushing ourselves further, sure we have been in the business for over a decade, but we have only had a little over a year at our current location in Summit Park. We have plenty of tricks up our sleeve as we continue to grow and evolve into our new home, plenty of special events ahead of us, plenty of new menu items, and plenty of heart.

Our Toast

In 2017, we got our brick oven together to bring traditional style pizza to the Blue Ash community. We also had many successful catering parties, in both our new Blue Ash Meeting Room, and abroad. We hosted multiple 5-Course dinners for special occasions, Rombauer Winery a successful buffet on Mother’s Day, an evening with Advanced Sommelier Mary Horn, Business Lunches, Romantic Dinner’s, we have succeeded through Burger Week, Restaurant Week, Pizza Week, Taste of Blue Ash, and just about any other week that Cincinnati could throw at us. We also loved every minute of it, and we love you, the customer’s who have made it possible. So our toast this New Years Eve is to you, thank you for your patronage and support!

We are really looking forward to what 2018 has to offer, Every year that goes by here at Summit Park, things seem to get more interesting. The park is expecting to open it’s observation deck in 2018, and has plenty of big things planned for the calendar ahead. Stop by for some ice skating until February 18th, stop by for the Farmers Market in the Spring/ Summer, say hello during the Taste of Blue Ash, or the Red White and Blue Ash Celebration, enjoy a movie in the park, or maybe just do some Yoga or Zumba courses with the community. We are currently working on a string of special events of our own for the near future, and will be dropping some details soon! Here are a few hints….

“Let’s talk wine with: Mary Horn” Wine Tasting & Tapas

This event features Tapas, Hors De’vours, and wine, casual networking style event, mostly standing room, some seats available for elderly/disabled, speaking spots for: Mary Horn (advanced Sommolier), Shawn McCoy (Chef/Owner Brown Dog Cafe), and Maggie Reedy (Winetrends)

Date: Monday 12/4/17
Time: 7-9pm
Price: $65 plus Tax and Tip
The wine pours will be between 2-3oz depending on variety.

To begin we will warm up with a toast of Champagne Laurent Perrier ‘La Cuvee’ Brut, Tours-sur-Marne

Then the Tapas begin!

1st: Duck Confit Crostini with a glass of Vietti ‘Perbacco’ Nebbiolo DOC, Piemonte:
Arugula + Goat Cheese + housemade cherry jam

2nd: Crab stuffed Mushrooms with a glass of Migration Chardonnay, Russian River Valley

3rd: Smoked Salmon Crustini with a glass of Wittmann ‘100 Hills’ Pinot Blanc Dry, Rheinhessen:
Dill Caper Cream + Tomato Relish + Fried Shrimp + chopped egg

4th: Blackbean Burger Tostada with a glass of Titus Zinfandel, Napa Valley:
guacamole + pico + crema + enchilada sauce

5th: Belgian Endive with a glass of Kuentz-Bas Riesling, Alsace:
Walnut Cream Cheese + appleslaw + Balsamic Syrup + Jarlsberg Swiss

6th: Steak Diane Shooter with a glass of Nicole Chanrion Cote de Brouilly, Burgundy

Cincinnati Pizza Week is Upon Us.
For the week of November 6th-12th, The Brown Dog Cafe will be participating in Cincinnati Pizza Week sponsored by City Beat, and Braxton Brewery. We will be offering a slightly smaller version of our “Flying Hawaiian” Pizza with Smoked Pork Belly, Red Onions, Fresh Pineapple, White Cheddar Cheese Curds, and House-Made BBQ Sauce. If you haven’t tried one of these yet, we highly recommend making a stop for Pizza Week to enjoy the deals. We have official Pizza Week Passports at the Restaurant, and invite you to be a pizza ambassador. Brown Dog Cafe will be closed May 29th

In observance of Memorial Day, the Brown Dog Cafe has decided to close on Monday, May 29th so that our employees can spend some time with their families. Sorry for any inconveniences that this may cause you. We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday May 30th at 7:30am.

Saturday Brunch Service begins May 20th!

We are excited to announce that we will be opening Saturday’s for Brunch Service, beginning this Saturday, May 20th. We will be operating our standard Sunday Brunch Menu from 10am-3pm. Then we will be carrying on from 3pm through Dinner service offering selections from our layover menu.
